Dear UHC

Dear UHC was made directly following the death of United Healthcare's CEO. I found my inspiration in the comments of a TikTok song written by Philip Labes. Each page is filled with a comment from a real person left under the TikTok video.

Only Death Can Walk

Only Death Can Walk (who is missing part of the title due to wear and weak glue) is a brutal look at what sexual abuse did to my psyche as a teen. It discusses my denial of the fact that I was taken advantage of as well as the development of my need to pathologically lie as a form of distancing myself from my reality. It also discusses the growth I underwent and how I was able to make it out of that mentality.

The Garden of the Asylum (Seeing Red [Again])

The Garden of the Asylum was originally conceived as notes taken during a meditation session wherein I was deeply troubled about my place in the world as relates to capitalism and consumerism. During this time period of my life, I fell deeply in love with the works of Vincent Van Gogh, particularly his studies of the garden of the asylum where he spent the last portion of his life. He wrote a letter to his brother during his stay in the asylum which discussed the discomfort he and his companions felt, which he called "seeing red."

Each page contains one of his works created during this time, and each one's subject is contained in this garden.

Keep Watch

Keep Watch is a ficticious journal entry written by River, a character I played for quite some time in Dungeons and Dragons. In her journal entry, River keeps track of the logs she has for the fire during her night watch, and she fights emotions she is used to burying deep within herself.
